A 2008 FR500C, driven by Danny Thompson on behalf of Hajek Motorsports, ventured out to set a new land speed record. The FR500C Mustang achieved 251.74 officially, but needed to repeat the speed to lock down the record. The team is planning to go back to the Flats in October to capture the record.
